Since 1986, Catholic Education WA has been driving the strategic direction and mission of all our Catholic schools, serving almost one in five school-aged children in WA with a distinct educational framework that motivates students and staff to achieve their full potential.
Catholic Education Commission of WA
The CECWA and Committees act on behalf of the Catholic community for the benefit of all Catholic school-aged children, be they in Catholic schools or not. The Commission is appointed by the Bishops of Western Australia and is responsible to them. CECWA governs the CEWA system.
Strategic Wellbeing Framework (CEWA)
In consultation with Catholic school leaders, school staff, students and community members, CEWA’s Strategic Wellbeing Framework has been created to help facilitate CEWA’s strategic vision of flourishing Catholic pastoral communities in Western Australia (WA). This framework looks to enhance and enrich the capabilities, connections and conditions of all schools, their students, staff and communities by understanding that wellbeing is visible, measurable and improvable. National Catholic Education Commission (NCEC)
The National Catholic Education Commission is the peak body for Catholic education in Australia. The NCEC is responsible for the national coordination and representation of Catholic schools and education authorities.
This document is provided as an invitation for school communities to consider how they come together to enhance the partnership between schools and families; as together with the parish they support children and young people in exploring their faith. It is a resource for the evaluation of current practice and the discovery of imaginative responses and new opportunities for school communities. Download a copy here.
School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA)
The School Curriculum and Standards Authority is responsible for Kindergarten to Year 12 curriculum assessment standards and reporting for all Western Australian Schools.
Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA)
The purpose of the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority is to be the authoritative source of advice on, and delivery of, national curriculum, assessment and reporting for all Australian education ministers, with international recognition of their work.
The My School Website has been developed by ACARA and is a resource for parents, educators and the community to find information about each of Australia's schools. The My School website includes facts and figures, a school map/location function, financial information for each school and students' NAPLAN performance over a number of years. For parents considering residential college, St Thomas More College has been the home away from home for thousands of students at the University of Western Australia. 'Tommy More' College is just across the road from the main University campus and provides a range of student accommodation.

School Drug Education and Road Aware
SDERA helps children and young people make smarter choices by providing a resilience approach to road safety and alcohol and other drugs education. We support school staff, early childhood educators and community agencies with professional learning, resources and state-wide consultancy.
Healthy Families is all about giving you the information, knowledge and confidence to support the young people in your life – whether you’re a parent, guardian, grandparent, a favourite uncle or an awesome auntie. We’re also here to help you take care of your own mental health and wellbeing, especially if you’re a new parent or about to become one.
Headspace – For Young People, Friends and Families
More than 75 per cent of mental health issues develop before a person turns 25, and yet, many traditional services aren’t equipped to address the unique barriers that young people face to accessing mental health support. headspace began in 2006 to address this critical gap, by providing tailored and holistic mental health support to 12 - 25 year olds. With a focus on early intervention, we work with young people to provide support at a crucial time in their lives – to help get them back on track and strengthen their ability to manage their mental health in the future.
Drug and Alcohol Research and Training Australia (DARTA)
DARTA aims to provide education and training expertise as well as high quality research assistance on a wide range of alcohol and other drug issues. DARTA specialises in providing education and training to a wide range of audiences and can tailor presentations to suit any agency’s requirements in the area of alcohol and other drugs.
Lifeline WA’s mission is to prevent suicide, support people in crisis and reduce the stigmas, which can be a barrier to people seeking help.
Telethon Kids bring together community, researchers, practitioners, policy makers and funders, who share their mission to improve the health, development and lives of children and young people through excellence in research. Importantly, Telethon Kids want knowledge applied so it makes a difference.
The R U Ok? website has resources for primary, secondary and tertiary educators and institutions and will help students everywhere start a conversation, learn how they can support each other and be good friends.
Safety and eSafety
Constable Care has successfully communicated safety and crime prevention strategies to generations of Western Australians for over 30 years. The theatre-in-education themes have been derived from an expressed community need and developed in consultation with experts in education, child safety and harm prevention.
The eSafety Commissioner (eSafety)
eSafety is Australia’s independent regulator for online safety. eSafety uses research, evidence and experience to lead and advise on online safety issues, and deliver comprehensive services that are compassionate and focused on people. eSafety's purpose is to help safeguard all Australians from online harms and to promote safer, more positive online experiences. Paul Litherland has worked in the online crime space for close to 20 years and currently works with over 850 schools and organisations across the country. He provides comprehensive awareness presentations to school aged children from year 4 to 12, to educators, parents, grandparents, guardians and carers, and businesses. If Paul is unable to visit your location in person, he can offer highly professional and engaging online presentations from his personal studio.
ySafe provides parents with realistic and practical cyber safety education sessions, that equip and empower parents to actively participate in their children's online lives. Packed with real-world, relevant and evidence based information, these sessions provide strategy-rich content that can be implemented immediately at home to promote safer online environments for kids.
Beacon is an app that was co-designed by parents and caregivers as an evidence-based tool to help parents navigate social media with their children. Families receive content tailored to their needs – including articles, videos and alerts – from a comprehensive library of strategies and tips to help address challenging issues such as screen time, gaming and cyberbullying. The content is regularly updated in response to changing Australian societal and online trends.
ThinkUKnow Australia is an evidence-based education program led by the Australian Federal Police (AFP), delivered nationally in partnership with police and industry partners to prevent online child sexual exploitation. ThinkUKnow offers parent, carer and educator presentations, providing you with the tools to create a safer online environment for children and young people, and empower you to feel confident in guiding them as they access the internet and use technology.
